Treaty Bills Under Extended Hours

Parliament sat this morning under extended hours provisions.

MPs will hold the third reading debates on the Ngati Apa ki te Ra To, Ngati Kuia, and Rangitane o Wairau Claims Settlement Bill, Ngati Koata, Ngati Rarua, Ngati Tama ki Te Tau Ihu, and Te Atiawa o Te Waka-a-Maui Claims Settlement Bill and the Te Tau Ihu Claims Settlement Bill split into the Ngati Toa Rangatira Claims Settlement Bill and Haka Ka Mate Attribution Bill.

Two of the bills passed on a voice vote and the Ngati Koata, Ngati Rarua, Ngati Tama ki Te Tau Ihu, and Te Atiawa o Te Waka-a-Maui Claims Settlement Bill passed by 113 to 7 with NZ First opposing.
