Parliament To Sit Under Extended Hours

by Desk Editor on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 — 12:08 AM

Parliament will sit at 9am today under extended hours provisions.

The Business Committee agreed to debate the second readings of the Te Hiku Claims Settlement Bill, the Te Kawerau ā Maki Claims Settlement Bill, and the Hawke’s Bay Regional Planning Committee Bill. All of which are generally agreed by most parties.

The House will rise at 1pm or when business is completed. As the day’s business is technically the extension of Tuesday’s business the Government and Parliament will not release the Order Paper for the rest of Wednesday until Tuesday’s business is completed. It is expected the Government will continue to work its way through the committee stages of a number of bills.
