The Financial Markets Conduct Bill completed its first reading without further debate after the General Debate was held.

The bill proposes an extensive overhaul of regulation of the finance sector.

It was sent to the Commerce Committee for consideration by 106 to 15 with the Greens and Mana Party opposing.

MPs began the third reading of the Building Amendment Bill (No 3).

Before Question Time a report from the Auditor General on Central government: Results of the 2010/11 audit (Volume 2) was presented.
