Spooks Present Annual Reports

The annual reports of New Zealand’s spying agencies were tabled in Parliament when it resumed today.

Both the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service and the

Government Communications Security Bureau’s annual reports for the for the year ending 30 June 2011 were presented.

After a week-long adjournment a host of select committee reports were also tabled

The reports included:

2010/11 financial review of Genesis Power Limited as reported by the Commerce Committee

Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects) Bill as reported by the Local Government and Environment Committee

2010/11 financial review of the Tertiary Education Commission as reported by the Education and Science Committee

2010/11 financial review of Career Services as reported by the Education and Science Committee

2010/11 financial review of Bay of Plenty District Health Board, the Counties Manukau District Health Board, the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board, the Lakes District Health Board, and the MidCentral District Health Board as reported by the Health Committee

2010/11 financial review of Alcohol Advisory Council of New Zealand, the Crown Health Financing Agency, the Health and Disability Commissioner, the Health Research Council of New Zealand, and the Health Sponsorship Council as reported by the Health Committee

2010/11 financial review of Northland District Health Board, the Tairawhiti District Health Board, the Taranaki District Health Board, the Waikato District Health Board, and the Whanganui District Health Board as reported by the Health Committee

2010/11 financial review of the Legal Services Agency as reported by the Justice and Electoral Committee

2010/11 financial review of the Law Commission as reported by the Justice and Electoral Committee

2010/11 financial review of the Human Rights Commission as reported by the Justice and Electoral Committee

International treaty examination of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption as reported by the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee

The Mount Maunganui Borough Reclamation and Empowering Act Repeal Bill was introduced and MPs began Question Time
