Budget Legislation Tidied Up

The Government used extended hours on Wednesday morning to get Budget related matters on the books ahead of the new financial year.

After winding up the debate on the performance of Crown entities, MPs completed the three hour debate on the second reading of the Appropriation (2011/12 Supplementary Estimates) Bill and the Imprest Supply (First for 2012/13) Bill.

They progressed by 63 to 56 with National, Maori Party, United Future and ACT supporting.

The Imprest Supply (First for 2012/13) Bill was set down for third reading and the Appropriation (2011/12 Supplementary Estimates) Bill went to its committee stage, amendments were made and it was reported with amendment.

Both bills were then read a third time by 63 to 56 with National, Maori Party, United Future and ACT supporting.

The House then adjourned until 2pm.
