Gang Patch Ban Bill Progresses

A bill proposing to ban gang patches from Government buildings has passed its first hurdle.

The Prohibition of Gang Insignia in Government Premises Bill completed its first reading by 69 to 52 with Labour, Greens Maori and Mana opposing.

The bill was sent to the Law and Order Committee for consideration.
