When Parliament resumed at 2pm Sports Minister Murray McCully moved a motion congratulating the Paralypmics Team for their performance in London.

MPs unanimously supported the motion.

Annual reports were presented from the:

Ngārimu VC and 28th (Māori) Battalion Memorial Scholarship Fund Board, Report for the year ended 31 December 2010;

Māori Trustee, Annual Report 2012; and

Licensing Authority of Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers.

Select committee reports were presented on the:

Financial Markets Conduct Bill by the Commerce Committee

Petition 2011/30 of Myles Thomas on behalf of Save TVNZ7 Campaign by the Commerce Committee

Petition 2011/22 of Naginbhai Neil Ghelabhai Patel and 881 others by the Justice and Electoral Committee

The following bills were introduced:

Environment Canterbury (Temporary Commissioners and Improved Water Management) Amendment Bill;

Waitaha Claims Settlement Bill; and the

Advanced Technology Institute Bill.

MPs began Question Time.

Following Question Time, Speaker Lockwood Smith allowed an urgent debate on the decision to delay the partial sale of Mighty River Power.
