Legislation to keep commissioners in place to run Environment Canterbury until 2016 will be debated in Parliament today.
After Question Time the first reading of the Environment Canterbury (Temporary Commissioners and Improved Water Management) Amendment Bill is on top of the Order Paper.
This may be delayed however as Speaker Lockwood Smith indicated last week he may consider a request for an urgent debate on proposals for the reorganisation of schools in Christchurch
The next bills due for debate are the committee stages of the Taxation (Annual Rates, Returns Filing, and Remedial Matters) Bill and the Airports (Cost Recovery for Processing of International Travellers) Bill.
