Extra Members Day

by Desk Editor on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 — 11:02 AM

An extra members’ day will be held today as agreed by the business committee last week.

After Question Time and the General Debate, MPs will turn to local and members bills for the second week in a row.

The unusual arrangement was made to allow the Government to use extended hours provisions to progress a number of bills in the last sitting of Parliament this year in early December.

This afternoon, Parliament will debate the second reading of the Waitaki District Council Reserves and Other Land Empowering Bill.

This will be followed by the first readings of:

Land Transport (Admissibility of Evidential Breath Tests) Amendment Bill
Conservation (Natural Heritage Protection) Bill
Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act 2009 (Application to Casinos) Amendment Bill
Employment Relations (Protection of Young Workers) Amendment Bill
