GCSB Bill To Be Discussed

Prime Minister John Key will discuss GCSB related legislation with other members of the Security and Intelligence Committee before proceeding with it, Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee said today.

Speaking after delivering his weekly Business Statement to the House, Brownlee said the Government would not proceed with the legislation concerning the legality of the GCSB’s activities until the discussions took place.

Brownlee said next week the Government would seek to progress a number of bills including Crown Minerals (Permitting and Crown Land) Bill the and the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Amendment Bill.

Next week the House would sit on Thursday morning to progress treaty settlement bills and on Thursday afternoon there will be a special debate on Pacific issues.
