The Government would next week seek to complete a number of set piece debates and make progress on bill, Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee said today.

Priority would be given to the of the Immigration Amendment Bill, Legal Assistance Amendment Bill, and State Sector and Public Finance Reform Bill.

The House will sit on Wednesday morning to make progress on a number of non-controversial bills and Members’ bills would be dealt with that evening.

The Auditor General’s report, Public sector financial sustainability, was presented as were select committee reports on:

Taxation (Livestock Valuation, Assets Expenditure, and Remedial Matters) Bill by the Finance and Expenditure Committee

Twelfth biennial conference of the Australasian Council of Public Accounts Committees (ACPAC), Sydney, Australia, 10 to 12 April 2013 by the Finance and Expenditure Committee

Report from the Controller and Auditor-General, Draft Annual Plan 2013/14 by the Finance and Expenditure Committee

Briefing on Joint Thematic Review of Young Persons in Detention by the Law and Order Committee

Supplementary Estimates of Appropriations for the year ending 30 June 2013 by the Finance and Expenditure Committee
