House Has Wednesday Morning Sitting

by Desk Editor on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 — 7:41 AM

Parliament is set to resume at 9am this morning to deal with a number of bills.

Usually extended hour provisions are done by leave of all parties. However yesterday the Government had to put the issue to a vote which it won by 63 to 56.

The first reading debates on the Taxation (Annual Rates, Foreign Superannuation, and Remedial Matters) Bill and the Construction Contracts Amendment Bill, and the committee stage of the Local Electoral Amendment Bill (No 2) will be debated this morning.
