Replacing Dunne To Be Debated

by Desk Editor on Thursday, June 13, 2013 — 10:49 AM

An appointment to replace to Peter Dunne on the Intelligence and Security Committee will be debated in Parliament this afternoon.

Following Question Time, MPs will vote on the first reading of the Appropriation (2012/13 Supplementary Estimates) Bill without debate.

This will be followed by a Government notice of motion – “ That, under section 11 of the Intelligence and Security Committee Act 1996, this House endorse Hon Tony Ryall as a member of the Intelligence and Security Committee, nominated by the Prime Minister under section 7(1)(c) of the Act.’’

This will result in the replacement of Peter Dunne on the committee following his resignation from the Executive in the wake of the leaking of a report concerning the unlawful activities of the GCSB.

The Government then intends to complete the third reading of the Immigration Amendment Bill.
