Fuel Levy Bill Sent To Select Committee

This evening MPs completed the first reading of the Energy (Fuels, Levies, and References) Amendment Bill.

The bill which sets up a levy on liquid fuels to fund international obligations over oil reserves completed its first reading by 77 to 41 with National, Greens, Maori Party, ACT and United Future in support and sent to the Commerce Committee for consideration.

The House rose at 10pm interrupting the interrupted second reading debate of the Victims of Crime Reform Bill.
