A Christchurch city rates validation bill was introduced when Parliament sat today.

When Parliament resumed at 2pm a petition was presented requesting the House take urgent action on recognising food tube dependency as a medical condition and it treatment be funded.

The Christchurch City Council (Rates Validation) Bill was introduced.

The Bill validates a number of rates and penalties for non-payment collected where irregularities occurred in the resolutions setting the Council’s rates for the financial years 2003/2004 to 2012/2013.
