Estimates Debate

by Desk Editor on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 — 10:41 AM

After Question Time today, MPs are due to start a set piece eight hour Budget debate.

The debate is the committee stage of the Appropriation (2013/14 Supplementary Estimates) Bill and the Government may well interrupt it at some point to carry on other business.

If so the next item on the Order Paper is the committee stage of the Gambling Amendment Bill (No 2). This is a bill which has been waiting on debate for some time and is an indication of the Government’s reduced legislative options since the resignation of ACT MP John Banks.
