The Government still intends to make progress on legislation concerning MPs salaries, but it is still unclear when this will take place.

Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee only told MPs it was not the Government’s intention to disrupt Members Day next week. The Business Committee was told on Tuesday it was the Government’s intention to move urgency today and pass through all stages the Remuneration Authority Amendment Bill. Ministers now say there are technical issues which have to be sorted out first.

Mr Brownlee said in the Business Statement next week progress would be made on bills including the Human Rights Amendment Bill, Construction Contracts Amendment Bill and the Statutes Amendment Bill (No 4).

The annual reports of the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service and the Government Communications Security Bureau were presented, as was the report of the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service, Te Pā Whakamarumaru, Section 41D Authorisations Interim Report for the period 1 July 2014 to 31 December 2014.

Select committee reports were presented on:

2013/14 annual review of the Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa, Drug Free Sport New Zealand, Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga, the New Zealand Film Commission, the New Zealand Fire Service Commission, the Office of Film and Literature Classification, and Sport New Zealand by the Government Administration Committee
