Flag And MPs Salaries Bills Introduced

Bills setting up a referendum on the New Zealand flag and changing the way MPs salaries are set were introduced when the House sat at 2pm.

The New Zealand Flag Referendums Bill and the Remuneration Authority Amendment Bill were introduced.

The annual reports of the Abortion Supervisory Committee and the Parliamentary Service Commission were also presented, as the was the report on Vote Conservation, Te Papa Atawhai, Addendum Report in relation to Non-departmental Appropriations for the year ended 30 June 2014

Select committee reports were presented on the 2013/14 Financial Statements of the Government of New Zealand for the year ended 30 June 2014 and the Budget Policy Statement 2015 by the Finance and Expenditure Committee

The Education and Science Committee’s reports on the financial review of the 2013/14 Careers New Zealand, the Institute of Environmental Science and Research Limited, Landcare Research, the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research Limited, Network for Learning, the New Zealand Forest Research Institute Limited (SCION) was presented.

MPs then began Question Time.
