Urgency Moved For MPs Pay Bill

by Desk Editor on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 — 3:22 PM

The Government has put the House into Urgency to pass through all stages the Remuneration Authority (Members of Parliament Remuneration) Amendment Bill.

The motion was passed by 106 to 14 with the Green Party opposed.

Urgency pushes all planned business off the Order Paper. The bill replaces the Remuneration Authority Amendment Bill, which was introduced last week, with an amendment to the formula to calculate the setting of MPs salary rises.
