General Agreement On Health Bill

The Health (Protection) Amendment Bill has completed its second reading.

Health Minister Jonathan Coleman said the bill would restrict UV sun tan treatment to those over 18 and make new rules around management of infectious diseases and contact management

Annette King said Labour would support the bill which mostly came out of the Public Health Bill which was introduced by her as health minister (The bill has stalled on the Order Paper for some time).

There was wide support for the majority of the bill though a number of MPs said they believed UV tanning beds should be banned outright. The bill progressed on a voice vote.

MPs then began the second reading of the Gambling Amendment Bill (No 3)
