Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee today put forward a notice of motion without debate, marking the centenary of the New Zealand Red Cross.

The full motion is as follows:

“I move, That the House congratulate the New Zealand Red Cross on the centenary of the Red Cross activity in New Zealand, and acknowledge the contribution that thousands of New Zealanders have made since 1915 in working with the New Zealand Red Cross in its role as an auxiliary to the public authorities in the humanitarian field in order to improve the lives of vulnerable people at home and abroad, especially in times of disaster and conflict.”
