This week sees the House return after a one week break. The Government has indicated that it plans to advance a number of bills during the week.

These include the Taxation (Bright-Line Test for Residential Land) Bill and the Taxation (Annual Rates for 2015-16, Research and Development, and Remedial Matters) Bill.

Extended sitting

The House is expected to go into an extended sitting from 9 a.m. on Wednesday 4 November and the Government will look to progress various bills on the order paper.

Maiden speech

New Green Party MP, Marama Davidson, will make her maiden speech on Wednesday at about 5.15 p.m. This follows the resignation from Parliament of Russel Norman on 30 October.

The order of business can change until the final Order Paper is published at 10.30 a.m. on the sitting day. The first three or four Government orders of the day listed on the final Order Paper will be what the House debates after question time that day. Find the latest Order Paper here.

Select committees

There is a full programme of select committee meetings in Parliament on both Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 November. Public hearings will be held on both days:
