Māori Language Bill Progresses

The Te Pire mō Te Reo Māori / Māori Language Bill has passed its committee stage.This bill repeals the Māori Language Act 1987 and Part 4A of the Broadcasting Act 1989. It establishes an independent entity, Te Mātāwai, to provide leadership on behalf of iwi and Māori regarding the health of the Māori language.
