The Ngāti Pūkenga Claims Settlement Bill has passed its first reading on a voice vote and been referred to the Māori Affairs Committee. This bill gives effect to the deed of settlement signed on 7 April 2013 in which the Crown and Ngāti Pūkenga agreed to the final settlement of the historical Treaty of Waitangi claims of Ngāti Pūkenga.
