Bill to raise minimum driving age to sixteen has first reading and Reserve Bank Governor, Alan Bollard, briefs the finance and expenditure committee on his decision to leave the official cashrate unchanged. Giving a submission to the Transport and Industrial Relations Committee, the Human Rights Commissioner criticises the extension of the ninety day trial period for new employees – that issue also gets an airing during question time.
