When Parliament resumed today at 2pm Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee indicated that electoral law reform bills would be the priority next week for the Government.
He did not give any detail on what legislation Parliament would deal with under Urgency.
Petitions were then presented from:
Darien Fenton, requesting the House note that 20,260 people have signed an on-line petition indicating their opposition to NZTA’s intention to charge for access to basic data from the Motor Vehicle Register;
Luana Bosanquet-Heays and 239 others, requesting the House take urgent action to prevent climate change from damaging the Pacific Islands.
Select committee reports were received on:
The 2009/10 financial review of the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology by the Education and Science Committee;
The 2009/10 financial review of the Education Review Office by the Education and Science Committee
The 2009/10 financial review of the GCSB and the SIS by the Intelligence and Security Committee
The Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment report on Lignite Coal and Climate Change was presented.
The following bills were introduced:
The Crown Pastoral Land (Rent for Pastoral Leases) Bill;
National Animal Identification and Tracing Bill
