The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Bill passed its second reading by 111 votes to 11 with the Greens, Chris Carter and Hone Harawira opposing.

The House moved immediately into committee to consider the bill as one question.

Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee indicated the Government was still working on amendments to the bill following yesterday’s select committee hearing.
