When Parliament resumed a petition calling on the Government to build the Auckland Central Business District rail loop was presented.

Finance Minister Bill English introduced the Appropriations 2011/2012 Estimates Bill and related material.

Mr English began his Budget Statement saying that the Government would return to a surplus financial position by 2014/2015 and the economy would grow strongly again in the near future.
