Labour leader Phil Goff said it was the worst budget he had seen in 27 years as it hurt those who could least afford it and sold off Government assets to pay off debt.
Mr Goff indicated Labour would look to lift the top tax rate and said National had broken its promise not to make cuts to KiwiSaver and Working for Families.
“cuts that will hurt, but will not solve New Zealand’s economic difficulties and has failed to act in the interests of all New Zealanders,’’ Mr Goff said.
