When Parliament resumed at 2pm the acting Leader of the House Simon Power said that next week the Government intended to move the first reading of the Subordinate Legislation Confirmation and Validation Bill (No 3).

When Parliament resumed at 2pm the acting Leader of the House Simon Power said that next week the Government intended to move the first reading of the Subordinate Legislation Confirmation and Validation Bill (No 3).

Progress would also be made on the Weathertight Homes Resolution Services (Financial Assistance Package) Amendment Bill, Misuse of Drugs Amendment Bill and the Electoral (Administration) Amendment Bill (No 2).

Mr Power said he had no plans at this stage to take the House into Urgency next week.

The petition of Angelina Tarai was presented asking that the House of Representatives inquire into the decision not to deport Troy Lolaga after his release from prison having served a sentence for the manslaughter of Rodney Tenamu.

Select committee reports were presented on:

2011/12 Estimates for Vote Women’s Affairs by the Government Administration Committee;

Sentencing (Aggravating Factors) Amendment Billby the Law and Order Committee;

Special report providing the te reo Maori translation for the Nga Wai o Maniapoto (Waipa River) Bill by the Māori Affairs Committee.

The Sub Antarctic Islands Marine Reserves Bill was introduced and MPs began Question Time.
