The Regulatory Standards Bill passed its first reading stage by 64 to 56 with Labour, Greens, Maori Party, Progressive and Chris Carter opposing.

The bill was sent to the Commerce Committee for consideration.

The House went into committee to consider the Courts and Criminal Matters Bill.
