More problems with Parliament’s microphone system appeared when the House sat this afternoon.

Speaker David Carter said only the microphones of the Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition and the Speaker were working, but the rest were being worked on.

The House was plagued with microphone and sound issues towards the end of last year to many MPs frustration.

New Zealand First MP Richard Prosser then sought leave to make a personal explanation about a recent article he had written concerning muslims.

An MP objected (reportedly Hone Harawira) and he was refused leave.

Green co-leader Russel Norman moved a motion without debate noting that Parliament affirm that all New Zealanders regardless of race or religion should be treated the same before the law and in society. It was passed unanimously

A report by the Auditor General on the Police enforcement of drink driving laws was presented.

MPs began Question Time.
