Parliament resumes today with the Prime Minister’s statement kicking off the year in the House.

In the speech just after 2pm John Key will outline his Government’s legislative and policy priorities for the year.

This is followed by a 15 hour debate which ends in a vote indicating whether Parliament has confidence in the Government.

There will be no Question Time today, but the first of the year will be held tomorrow.

The debate in reply to the Prime Minister’s statement will take up most of the House’s time this week and it will be followed by a two week adjournment.
